The No. 4 Loras College men’s track and field team traveled to Bloomington, Ill. for the Titan Open, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University and brought home four individual event wins as well as multiple personal best marks.

Josh Smith won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92 seconds and placed second in the 200-meter dash (22.26) to Patrick Mikel who ran 22.25 which ranks him tied for fifth nationally. The Duhawks took the top-three spots in the 400-meter dash with Mike Jasa running a 50.20 personal best to win the event, Shamari Scott placing second (51.00) and Carter Oberfoell (51.00) hot on his heels in third. The 4-by-400-meter relay quartet of Tyson Morrison, Jasa, Smith and Mikel won the event with the second-fastest time in Division III (3:19.39).
Earning third-place finishes were Cole Conklin-Little in the mile with a personal best 4:21.10 and Alex Martens in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 2.75 inches. Zac Couturefinished third in the weight throw with a toss of 49’5.00″ and Mikel placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.04.
The Duhawks next meet is set for Saturday, Feb. 8 in Naperville, Ill. at the North Central College Invitational. Events begin at 10:30 A.M.
