Men

The 4×400-meter relay team posted the top mark in Division III, Dylan Kalinay won the 110-meter hurdles and Braden Meints took the title in the javelin throw to highlight the Simpson men’s track and field team’s showing at the Jim Duncan Invitational over the weekend.

The foursome of Chase Wetterling, Travis Tupper, Matt Pearson and Jordan Coughenour crossed the finish line in 3:15.58, placing second behind Drake. The time topped the mark of 3:15.86 set by Augustana (Ill.), also on Saturday.

Women

Audrey LoVan tied her own school record in the pole vault to lead the Simpson women’s track and field team at the Jim Duncan Invitational this weekend.

LoVan cleared 9-feet, 8-inches on the pole vault to match her own school record set back in 2015. She cleared on her first attempt, but couldn’t reach the next notch. Her mark is currently ninth in the Iowa Conference.

Alex Niemier placed eighth in the shot put with a heave of 37-10 3/4, Jackie Cullinan came in ninth in the javelin with a throw of 80-4 and Courtney Neuendorf came in ninth in the 3,000 steeplechase (12:50.11) to round out Simpson’s top-10 finishes.
