Knights Men and Women Out Well Early

Women

The Wartburg women’s indoor track and field team opened its 2018 campaign with a win at its own annual Chelsey M. Henkenius Open Saturday. The Knights won the 12-team meet with 228 points.

New this year, was the addition of a meet MVP award. Wartburg’s Sam Holtz (Tama) earned that honor with her win in the shot put and second-place finish in the weight throw.

The Orange and Black claimed seven events:
60m hurdles: Maggi Bjustrom, 9.30
600m run: Betsy Duehr, 1:36.65
1000m run: Maddie Carlsen, 3:09.54
3000m run: Cassidy Christopher, 10:27.80
4x400m relay: 3:59.33
Pole vault: Nicole Schneider, 10’0.75″
Shot put: Sam Holtz, 43′ 4.25″
