Men

The Loras College men’s cross country team traveled to Oberlin, Ohio to compete in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday morning, placing 12th among 39 nationally ranked teams.

Luke Guttormson was the fastest finisher for Loras in a time of 25:33.6, good for 39th and Patrick Wolak (25:36.6) finished just three seconds behind him to secure the 40th spot. Joey Schultz completed the race in a time of 26:12.2, followed by Cole Conklin-Little with a time of 26:29.8, and Logan Hayes rounded out the scorers with a time of 26:33.9.

Max Ross led the Duhawks in the 8,000-meter open race finishing in a time of 27:28.7, followed by Anthony Kemp in 47th (27:35.4) and Sam Webster in 50th (27:39.7). Drew Brase ran 27:42.1 to place 53rd and Nathan Vail was right in tow, placing 54th with a time of 27:43.1.

Loras returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the American Rivers Conference Tournament, hosted by the University of Dubuque. Race time is set for 10:30 A.M.

Women

Loras College women’s cross country sophomore Kassie Rosenbum led the Duhawks to a tenth place finish at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday, turning in a historic mark to rank her second all-time in Duhawk history for the 6,000-meter race.

Rosembum placed second overall, crossing the finish line in 21:10.2, while the Duhawks’ next finisher was Audrey Miller in 32nd  (22:34.4). Kaylee Osterberger finished in 80th place (23:16.8) and Cam Reeg (23:24.1) and Maeve Dunaway (23:37.1) rounded out Loras’ scoring in 93rd and 112th, respectively.

In the open race, Hannah Insko led the way with a top-20 finish, placing 19th with a time of 24:00.8. Marianne Gleason finished 24th (24:06.2), Morgan Minear (24:20.5) was 31st, Shania Kelly (24:30.3) placed 39th, and Ciera Dietchler placed 46th with a time of 24:43.4.

Loras’ next race will be the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by the University of Dubuque. Race time is set for 11 A.M.
