The Duhawks scored top-ten finishes at the 2018 and 2019 indoor national championships, highlighted by back-to-back national titles by Patrick Mikel in the 400-meter dash and six All-American performances. Mikel currently ranks fifth in Division III in the 400m after running a 48.59 at the season-opener on Dec. 7.

Ryan Rogers is also a returning All-American in the heptathlon, earning honors in both 2018 and 2019. The junior ranks third in Division III this season after setting a new school record 5,058 points in the event. He also recorded lifetime bests in the 60-meter dash (7.19 seconds), shot put (36 feet, 5.50 inches) and the pole vault (14’10.75″) and set an indoor best 6’4.25″ in the high jump.

Loras also returns Mike Jasa, Tyson Morrison and Josh Smith from the 4-by-400-meter relay team at the 2019 championship that placed third to earn All-America honors.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse owns the top spot in the preseason rankings while the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is second and Mount Union University is third. Behind the Duhawks in fifth is the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Loras returns to the track for the first time this decade on Saturday, Jan. 18 for the Sol Butler Classic, hosted by the University of Dubuque. Events begin at 10:30 A.M.
