Cole finished 10th overall at the MVC Championships to claim UNI’s second-consecutive Freshman of the Year honor, joining Hannah Truniger who won the award last season.

As a team, the Panther women had six runners claim top-25 finishes, as Tiffany Christensen and Cole earned All-Conference honors after coming in ninth and 10th overall respectively . The UNI men finished seventh overall, with two top-30 individual finishes.

Bradley won both the men and women’s races on Saturday, as the Braves fulfilled the pre-championship poll predictions. UNI’s women finished with a score off 56, while Bradley earned a 30 to take the conference title.

WOMEN’S RECAP
The UNI women claimed spots 9-12 on the individual board, as Christensen, Cole, Ashley Noremand Truniger were packed in tightly together. Brette Correy (14th) and Gabby Champion (25th) were not far behind to round out the top-25. Norem, Truniger and Correy all claimed All-MVC Honorable Mention as well on Saturday.

With Saturday’s results, Christensen and Correy now have four top-15 finishes this season, while Truniger owns three with all four of her races this year being at least top-20 showings.  The top 10 for Cole was her collegiate high at UNI.

MEN’S RECAP
CJ May posted the highest finish for the UNI men, coming in 22nd after running a time of 25:52.9. The finish for May ranks as the sophomore’s highest at the MVC Championship, while also being May’s highest for the 8K this year. Alex Johnston also earned a top-30 after clocking a time of 26:06.9 to finish 28th overall.
