All-American Honors For Panthers at MVC Conference

Wal Khat and CJ Mayfinished fifth and sixth respectively to earn All-Conference honors and lead the UNI men to a third-place team finish. McKayla Cole finished 12th to earn honorable mention All-Conference honors to lead the UNI women to a sixth-place finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday in Indiana.

On the back of Khat and May’s race, the Panthers earned their highest team finish since winning the title in the 2003 race. Khat finished with a time of 25:05.64 May followed closely with a time of 25:12.88.  Khat earned All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.

Redshirt sophomore Drake Henrichs finished 22nd with a time of 25:52.62. Junior Logan Murray notched his season-best time of 26:08.19 for a 29th-place finish. Sophomore Sam McCool closed out the scoring for UNI with a time of 26:13.09 for a 32nd-place finish.

McKayla Cole led the way for Panther women. She earned a 12th-place finish with a time of 18:43.24. Paige Holub finished 35th with a time of 19:30.68. Senior Haylee Lunafinished 39th with a time of 19:44.07. Katie Nimrod recorded a time of 19:58.78 for a 42nd-place finish and Tess Roorda was right behind her in 43rd with a time of 19:59.22 to close out the scoring.

The Panthers next travel to the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 15 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
