The Notre Dame distance runners competed in three events Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Black and Gold Invitational. Dustin Macuiba and Erin Sullivan earned top-five finishes on the final day of competition down in Nashville.

In the 2000m steeplechase, Macuiba led the way for the Irish finishing third overall with a time of 6:02.52. Anthony Williams finished sixth in the event (6:05.21) and Sean Kurdy was not far behind with an eighth-place finish (6:18.62).
To close out the meet for the Irish, Erin Sullivan and Matt Fraizer competed in the 800m run. Sullivan was coming off a personal-best time in the 800m at the ACC Indoor Championships and had a strong race Saturday in Nashville. She finished fourth out of a field of 21 runners with a time of 2:15.70. Fraizer finished 18th on the men’s side with a time of 1:57.23.
The Irish will split up next weekend at the Stanford Invitational and Raleigh Relays. Both meets will start on Friday, March 30 and conclude on Saturday, March 31.
